Space was so tight in this 6-by-10 kitchen that you couldn’t stand in it and open any of the appliances. To say that this area was worn out is an understatement.
A complete gut was required and a redesign involved relocation of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical.
New painted, raised-panel maple cabinetry, glass display transoms, and towers with mullions were installed in a u-shape, allowing full use of the traditional work triangle.
The decorate travertine backsplash and granite countertops are well lit by xenon under cabinet lights. We installed LED in-cabinet lighting and recessed canister lights throughout the kitchen and dining areas.
An under cabinet microwave matching the rest of the new appliances was installed maximizing counterpace.
Applied panels, matching the cabinet doors were installed and an extended overhang on the peninsula countertop allows for use as a breakfast bar.
Conveniences such as soft-close glides, self-close hinges, deep drawers, roll-out shelves, a cookie sheet pull-out, and two lazy- susans were included to keep this small kitchen organized.
Wide plank, hand scraped, oak tongue and groove flooring replaced the outdated vinyl flooring in the kitchen and dining area.
