The new garage was designed to be “extra deep” to house the owners’ boat, canoe, and hunting gear.
Focusing on making the addition feel like it was original to the house, we designed a shed style dormer with windows, soffits, fascia, trim, and dentil moldings matching the existing. The entire house including addition was resided using concrete siding and the entire roof was re-roofed using multi-dimensional shingles.
Carriage style doors with matching hardware made the fully functional powered garage doors appear to be hinged in the center.
The homeowner has a very sweet, very curious, Gordon-Setter, named “Fergie” that watched every move that we made, and appears in many of the pictures. A custom cupola with an iron weathervane that resembled “Fergie” was installed on top of the new garage.
The master bedroom and dressing area ceiling follow the rooflines to maintain maximum ceiling height.
The new bathroom has a heated tile floor, a walk-in shower, separate whirlpool tub, and double vessel sinks atop a “Euro-style” vanity with a granite top, and a linen cabinet. Satin nickel plumbing and vanity fixtures were used matching the semi-frameless shower door. Soap and shampoo niches were tiled in both the shower and match the shower floor.
The sun-porch and new deck were constructed using composite decking materials that will provide many years of maintenance free enjoyment.
